Abubakar is an experienced professional and senior management executive with depth of knowledge in the financial services industry and over 25 years hands-on experience in accounting, finance and general administration, across diverse top leading firms in Nigeria. He was a Deputy General Manager with Keystone Bank and was at various times Business Branch Manager, Divisional Head and Head of Public Sector Group- Lagos/West.

Abubakar holds B.Sc. (Hons) Economics from Usman Dan Fodio University, Sokoto. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, and an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, (CITN). He has benefited from different Executive Education Programs, some of which are:

• Duke Leadership Programme, Duke University, Durham, North Carolina
• Kellogg’s School of Management, North-western University
• Senior Management Program (SMP 30), Lagos Business School
• Advanced Corporate Finance –Euromoney

Olalekan has over 20 years’ experience in strategy formulation & execution management, economic research & analysis, policy formulations and analysis, public sector finance, financial modelling and analysis, budgeting & expenditure control, project management, business diagnostic & turnaround management. He acquired his experiences from Economic and Finance Consultancy Firm, Public Sector and different Financial Institutions in Nigeria.

He worked in the Strategy and Quality Improvement Department of Standard Trust Bank Plc. (Now UBA Plc.) and at different times, worked in the Strategic Planning Department of Equity Bank of Nigeria Plc. (later merged with Intercontinental Bank Plc, now Access Bank plc.) and Bank PHB Plc. (now Keystone Bank Ltd). While in the employment of these Banks, he was actively involved in corporate and business strategy formulation and execution, Government policies analyses to aid strategy formulation

He was the project manager for the acquisition of the Keystone Bank’s (legacy Bank PHB’s) Subsidiaries in Liberia, Gambia and the creation of the Bank in Sierra Leone and coordinated their operations post acquisition and set up.

He holds B.Sc. (Hons) Economics (2nd Class, Upper division) and M.Sc. (Distinction) in Economics, both, from the University of Lagos. He has attended various training programmes in finance, strategy, economic management, socio-economic policy and analysis, leadership, performance management, project management, budgeting and assets & liability management.
